Carolyn Logue is the owner of CA Logue Public Affairs, a legislative and political consulting firm based in Olympia, Washington.  Prior to starting her own firm, Carolyn served as the voice for the state’s largest small business association (NFIB) at the state capitol and in the media here in Washington State for 15 years.  She is credited for leading the charge to repeal employer-mandated health care and for reducing the $895 million tax increase enacted on small business in 1993.  Her efforts on behalf of small business led to some of the most sweeping regulatory reform legislation in the country, such as establishing cost/benefit analysis and other specific criteria for new regulations.  In addition, Logue was a major player in the initiative to repeal the state’s onerous ergonomics regulations and was a prime mover in the passage of sweeping Unemployment Insurance Reforms.

Logue is considered an expert on such issues as health care, taxes, regulatory reform, workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance.  She has been quoted in most of the state’s major newspapers as well as the Wall Street Journal.  She has written op-eds for many local business journals and has made appearances on CNN, Town Hall, Up Front with Robert Mak, and most of the local networks in the Seattle/Tacoma media market.  She has served on numerous legislative and regulatory task forces.

Under Logue’s guidance, NFIB grew into one of the strongest grassroots networks in Washington state.  She developed a strong political action committee for the organization, a fax network of 3,000 members, and an “Adopt-A-Lawmaker” program that identified one key contact NFIB member for each legislator.  Her efforts led to NFIB being recognized by lawmakers as a force to be reckoned with, particularly when faxes start coming in on a key NFIB issue.  NFIB members have commended Logue’s expertise at testifying on their behalf and setting up meetings for them with political heavyweights. The Small Business Improvement Council recognized Logue’s work on behalf of Washington State’s Main Street businesses.

Prior to NFIB, Logue spent four years as the Political Affairs Manager for the Washington Association of REALTORS, where she managed one of the state’s largest political-action committees.  Prior to that, Logue worked in market research, running focus groups and providing analysis.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Washington, and has completed several courses in marketing and management.  Logue lives in Olympia, together with her husband and two children.  She is active in her community and served on the board of her local PTA, including a year as President.
